The English inter-house elocution competition for the students of Vocational, Std IV to XII was held on 11th July, 2025.
An elocution competition is the art of public speaking that gives self-boost and confidence to speak in front of a large audience. It enables children to connect with the audience who are listening to them, when the child is reciting.
The Students were trained by their respective house captains and house teachers.
The bond between teacher and student was reflected in the elocution competition as the teacher guided the child from choosing the topic to helping the child practice it multiple times. It was a challenge for our introverted students who had never experienced public speaking, but the teacher resolved that and brought out the best in them.
The competition helped the students to speak clearly and loudly with confidence and with expression. It helped them to develop a good command over the English language, improve their memory and increase their vocabulary.
It gave the children the opportunity to combat their biggest fear – stage fright.
The event was hosted by Ms. Aisha Tharadra and our Event Head Zenaida Kapadia.
Our Principal Ms. Aarti Gandhi and Councillor Ms. Shreya Karia judged the students based on greeting, personal introduction, memorisation, reading fluency including pauses, verbal clarity & voice strength.
We, at Nalanda – ABET, believe that every child should be motivated irrespective of the result.
